Outreach to Young Artists

Soloist Lior Schwartz

Providing a new generation of singers with an opportunity to perform high-quality choral literature is one of the missions of the Rockland County Choral Society.

YOUNG ARTISTS

Outstanding high school singers are invited to audition for and perform with the Rockland County Choral Society each season. High school singers have the chance to sing alongside experienced and musically-trained singers while learning advanced literature and major choral works seldom performed at the high school level. Students are afforded opportunities to perform works with instrumental accompaniment, including full band and/or orchestral settings.

ARTIST APPRENTICES

College age and emerging semi-professional singers are also welcomed and encouraged to perform with the Choral Society. Singers with advanced training may be invited to share their expertise and talent as section leaders and soloists in the concert performances. This is an excellent way for budding singers to learn choral repertoire and build their performance resumé.

CHOIR SHOWCASE

As part of our mission to support choral music making in the community, each season the Choral Society invites one choral ensemble to be featured in one of our seasonal programs. Choral ensembles requesting to participate during the upcoming season are asked to submit a request form and audition video by August 31st.  The selected choral ensemble agrees to prepare a selection that highlights the theme of the concert program in which they will perform.
