In addition to promoting the performance of time-honored and loved choral works, the Choral Society is also proud to be an advocate for choral composers and the creation of new choral works.
Each year, the Choral Society will feature a choral composer, as the season’s “Composer-In-Residence” and will premiere a new choral work by the selected composer.
Working side by side with the composer in the creative process allows Choral Society members to deepen their understanding of the text, harmonic language and form and to present to our audience a riveting performance with the composer’s specific intentions brought to life.
Enjoy attending the premiere of these works with an opportunity to meet and talk with the composer before these works are published and gain world-wide fame. Be a part of the cutting-edge, music in the making!
