The Choral Society is pleased to welcome Dr. Russell Wagoner as our new Music Director for the 2018-19 season. Dr. Wagoner was chosen from a extensive field of candidates for the vision, experience, talent and enthusiasm that he brings to choral music. An eighteen-year veteran of the South Orangetown Central School District, Russell currently directs six choral ensembles at Tappan Zee High School, in addition to teaching Interactive Music (Music Theory plus), Choral Conducting, and the Singing Actor. He has directed numerous high school musical productions and is also the Music Director and Organist for Franklin Lakes United Methodist Church.
Dr. Wagoner holds a Doctor of Musical Arts degree from Boston University, a Masters of Music in Choral Conducting from University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music, and a Bachelors of Arts from Ball State University, Muncie, Indiana.
The Choral Society is excited to begin it’s 83rd year under the guidance of such a gifted and talented musician. We look forward to infusing our concerts next year with new energy, new ideas, and new singers while continuing the tradition of bringing beautiful music both classical and contemporary, sacred and secular, to Rockland County. Welcome Dr. Wagoner.
